To commemorate the Party's anniversary, enrich employees' cultural life, and improve the ideological awareness of Party members and cadres, the company organized all Party members and some employees in two batches to visit Kaifeng for study and observation. I was fortunate to participate in the first Kaifeng trip.
Early on July 11th, more than 40 of us gathered at the company and set off by bus to the first stop of our trip—the Jiao Yulu Memorial Hall in Lankao County, Henan Province, for study and observation. Entering the Jiao Yulu Memorial Park, everywhere was lush and green, giving people a solemn feeling. Under the leadership of Vice General Manager Cao Xinchang, we presented a floral basket to the tomb of Martyr Jiao Yulu and paid our respects with three bows, expressing our respect. In the memorial hall, we carefully listened to the explainer's introduction to the life and deeds of Comrade Jiao Yulu. Looking at Comrade Jiao Yulu's relics: clothes full of patches, dilapidated rattan chairs, handwritten documents, and precious photos of leading the masses in fighting wind and sand and reclaiming saline-alkali land, one couldn't help but feel deeply moved. I recalled a line from the movie "Jiao Yulu": "Even in death, I must see the sand dunes cured," a simple sentence, yet a true portrayal of Comrade Jiao Yulu's bitter experience. Although he only worked in Lankao for 472 days, his footprints were all over every village in Lankao. This spirit is exactly what General Secretary Xi Jinping advocates and promotes. Only by truly remembering this spirit in our hearts, being pragmatic, taking the lead, and working hard, can we possess the qualities and style of an excellent Communist Party member, and thus promote better social progress and development.
After the visit to the Jiao Yulu Memorial Hall, we came to Kaifeng, the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Kaifeng was the national capital, and the administration and judiciary of the capital were under the jurisdiction of Kaifeng Prefecture, holding a very prominent position and having experienced more than 160 years of glory. "Kaifeng has Bao Zheng, who is fair and impartial..." When it comes to Kaifeng, the first thing that comes to mind is Bao Zheng, who is revered by the Chinese as "Bao Qingtian," a symbol of integrity and justice, leaving behind a timeless reputation in the hearts of the Chinese people. He not only established the moral integrity of "purity, prudence, and diligence" but also formed the Kaifeng government office culture characterized by "integrity and firmness," which was deeply rooted in the hearts of the people and immortalized in history. Therefore, Bao Zheng can be said to be the "spokesperson" of this city. However, in addition to Bao Zheng, many historical celebrities, such as Ouyang Xiu, Fan Zhongyan, Su Shi, and Sima Guang, also served here, so Kaifeng occupies a unique and important position in Chinese history.
The current Kaifeng Prefecture is a newly built structure based on the original government office, magnificent and majestic. Entering Kaifeng Prefecture, the first thing that catches the eye is the Gongming Stone standing in the center of the courtyard. "Integrity begets brightness, brightness begets integrity, integrity begets authority." This is the most impressive maxim of this trip. As a motto for self-reflection used by officials during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the wheel of history keeps rolling forward, and history keeps progressing, but I believe that "Integrity begets brightness, brightness begets integrity, integrity begets authority" will always have special significance, like a mirror, reflecting the noble character of upright and honest officials from ancient times to the present, constantly encouraging Party members and cadres to be self-disciplined, self-loving, self-respecting, and self-alert.
Afterward, we visited the Daxiangguo Temple, Qingming Shanghe Garden, and other characteristic attractions in Kaifeng. Everyone gained a lot. Through this study tour, we further enhanced the awareness of hard work and pragmatism among Party members and cadres, and strengthened their sense of responsibility, honor, and mission, playing a model role in their work and contributing to the company's development with practical actions.
