Converter bottom oxygen blowing and powder injection technology is a new type of converter steelmaking technology that emerged in Japan and developed countries in Europe and America in the 1980s. After years of exploration and improvement, it has become increasingly mature. Converter bottom oxygen blowing and powder injection technology effectively reduces iron consumption, improves alloy yield, reduces material consumption, reduces the carbon-oxygen product of molten steel, and improves steel quality, thereby increasing the added value of steel plant products. However, due to the high oxygen blowing intensity of the bottom blowing, refractory materials usually cannot meet the smelting needs, the service life of the refractory materials is short, and the consumption is relatively large. In order to meet the needs of steelmaking, leading refractory materials research institutions and manufacturers have successively carried out research on improving the quality of refractory materials and developing bottom replacement technologies, thereby ensuring the promotion and application of converter bottom oxygen blowing and powder injection technology.

Jinan Ludong Refractory Materials Co., Ltd., seizing the needs of the domestic market, timely introduced the bottom thermal exchange refractory materials and technology from Shinagawa Refractories Co., Ltd., and purchased a bottom thermal exchange simulation experimental device, independently developing bottom thermal exchange process equipment. The performance of the bottom thermal exchange process equipment and the quality of the introduced refractory materials are stable. The high-temperature pressing process of the pressure-injected material has good fluidity and does not solidify. During use, it is corrosion-resistant, high-strength, and erosion-resistant. It has been successfully applied to three converter bottoms in a 260-ton oxygen blowing and powder injection converter of Hebei Iron and Steel, and its performance has reached the international advanced level.
In recent years, the company has cooperated with Wuhan University of Science and Technology to develop water-based large-area repair materials, anhydrous large-area repair materials, and long-life tapping nozzles, which have achieved good results in the market.
